Short version: sign in to the admin panel → click Billing → click Manage billing → Cancel subscription → confirm. Stripe handles the cancellation. You keep full access until the end of your current billing period. No phone call, no retention loop.
Step by step
- Sign in to admin.getlocalamp.com.
- Go to Billing in the nav.
- Click Manage billing. A new tab opens to Stripe’s Customer Portal.
- On the portal page, click Cancel subscription (top-right on most layouts).
- Stripe may ask a single “why are you cancelling?” question. Answering is optional.
- Confirm.
- You’ll see a confirmation that cancellation is scheduled for the end of your current billing period.
When access ends
Default: end of the current billing period. Stripe keeps your subscription “active” until the period end, then flips it to “canceled.”
Example: if your monthly billing date is the 23rd and you cancel on the 5th, you have full access (and all your credits / Pro unlimited) through the next 23rd. You won’t be charged again.
Immediate cancellation isn’t offered through the portal by default. If you need it (e.g., you’ve been charged incorrectly), email hello@getlocalamp.com and we can process it with a prorated refund.
What happens at the end of the period
- Your plan drops to Free automatically.
- Your remaining credit balance stays — you can keep spending the credits you’ve already paid for.
- On the monthly refresh schedule, new credits add per the Free plan rules (1/month).
- All your data remains: clients, topics, style training, approved content, edit history. Nothing is deleted on cancellation.
What you don’t lose
- All your past generated content (drafts, approved, posted, rejected)
- Your business profile, topics, voice/tone, guardrails
- Your style training sources
- Your exemplar / learning history
If you resubscribe later, you pick up exactly where you left off.
What you do lose
- Unlimited generations (if you were on Pro) — reverts to the Free plan’s 1/month.
- Additional credits per month (if you were on Starter) — reverts to Free’s 1/month.
Can I pause instead?
Stripe’s portal doesn’t offer a pause option on LocalAmp’s plans. The practical equivalent is cancelling and resubscribing when you’re ready.
Can I get a refund?
Stripe’s portal doesn’t offer self-serve refunds. For a refund (prorated or full), email hello@getlocalamp.com with your invoice ID and the reason. We review each request and respond within a business day.
Coming back later
Returning is a normal Checkout flow:
- Sign in (your account still works at the Free plan).
- Go to Billing → Upgrade to Starter/Pro.
- Complete Checkout. Benefits are active immediately.
Your old data is right where you left it.
